Christmas Eve Reindeer Food!

Leaving milk and cookies out for Santa has long been a Christmas Eve tradition the world over and these days Rudolph doesn't always have to settle for a carrot as we can now buy a touch of ready made sparkle with bags of ready to sprinkle reindeer food specially made for the occasion! It seemed to stand to reason that Rudolph's miniature counterpart shouldn't miss out so we've just added this gorgeous tiny bag of 1:12th scale Reindeer Food, full of miniature oats to our online store! Creating this was something really different and is perfect for any Festive miniature scene, whether it's a busy Santa's workshop or a quiet, dimly lit house on Christmas Eve!

Stepping Into Christmas!

To live somewhere where you can see the horizon all around you, a perfect panoramic circle of hills, lochs, waterfalls and sky, unobstructed by the mayhem of life in the world beyond, is a very special thing at any time of year and the Festive Season always adds a new layer of magic to island life! The first snowfalls have arrived on the Island and winter came knocking on the door - quite literally - this week with large hailstones forming a curtain from the sky between us and the hills!

The countdown to Christmas does, of course, officially begin with Advent (Advent Sunday is only a week tomorrow!) so that seems like the right place to start delving into Christmas in miniature!

This wonderful Advent Candle With Just Blown Out Smoke Effect was the first seasonal addition to our online store this year, along with this Festive Tear & Share Bread and this Individual Cranberry & Orange Cake.

Christmas 1914 DHMS Web Project!

5 Weeks today until Christmas Day & we're all beginning to think about how we're going to celebrate the festive season. The first Christmas of WW1 would find many people in a place far removed from that of the previous year but thanks to Princess Mary, the daughter of King George V, and the fund she created, nobody who wore His Majesty's uniform or was serving far away from home was without a gift. Indeed widows or parents of those killed, along with nurses serving abroad and the wounded on leave or hospitalised also received a gift box.

Here, Dolls House & Miniature Scene magazine continue their series of exclusive web projects marking 100 years since the start of World War 1 with this amazing miniature version of Princess Mary's 1914 Gift Box. An addition which is an absolute must for any house or scene of the time this festive season!
