We're now just 3 weeks away from the shortest day of the year.....or the darkest!! After that we shall be heading the other way towards Spring and the days will slowly start to become longer again. In the meantime though we have all the wonderful colors of Christmas to enjoy and there's nothing better than those colors provided by nature itself! This Holiday Fruit & Nut Centerpiece is crammed with vibrant shades of the season to make us realise that not only is it the most magic time of the year but also that those warm and sunny days we miss will come again!

T'was The Night Before Christmas!

With miniatures flying to sit beneath Christmas trees across the world this Christmas Eve it brought our minds to a certain somebody who will also be flying across the world this December! Called "Believe - Night Before Christmas Cookies For Santa", this board is wonderfully evocative of that special night full of dreams!

Baking Friday!

Today may be Black Friday but here on Skye this Friday has definitely been Baking Friday! With the smell of freshly baked cakes wafting across to the worktable it could almost feel as if it were coming from these delicious cakes! These White Chocolate & Cranberry Cake Slices have already found a new home and along with this Blueberry & Almond Cake they definitely bring with them the temptation for a little baking!

Happy Thanksgiving & A Chocolate Turkey!!

Anyone for a chocolate turkey?? It's doubtful that any member of the miniature family would be able to bring themselves to eat this little chap as he has such personality! He was also great fun to make!

The English Bakery!

We wanted to share this recent commission, a wonderful counter and shelves for an English Bakery! In this lovely, rich wood, which was requested to replicate that of an old family business, there is tiny pieces of Scottish shortbread sitting on the countertop, complete with an invitation to "Try Me",  British Cornish pasties, sausage rolls, cakes, scones, muffins, crumpets, pies, tarts and bread the only thing missing is the smell of all that baking wafting from the oven - we wish we could have added it!!

Christmas In A Basket!

Here we are, half way through November, less than a week away from Thanksgiving for those in the States and the vibrant golden leaves on our islands trees are now crunching under our feet! It seemed to happen almost overnight after a couple of days of rather windy weather and, in places, views which haven't been visible through the trees since Spring are now magically revealed once more like a curtain being pulled back!

Christmas too seems to be cascading down the hillside like the waterfall we see from the window on those cloudburst days so here are a couple more seasonal miniatures added to our collection, a Christmas Bread Basket which makes you almost smell fresh home baking seep through the screen and a Christmas Woodland Foraging Basket which is already winging it's way to a new home on the other side of globe where Christmas won't be so snowy!!

Festive Panettone & Gingerbread Igloo

You can just imagine those cosy Christmas afternoons by the miniature fireside, lights twinkling, snow falling outside (hopefully!) and a slice of Luxury Festive Panettone or Gingerbread Igloo! Oh to be that small and live in the dollhouse! Christmas miniatures are always magical to create, there's always the feeling that they have that extra little sprinkling of wonder about them! Eggnog!!

It's November and that can only mean one thing! It's Christmas next month!! In fact, at the time of writing this, according to the live countdown clock on our blog it is just 51 sleeps! Almost time to crack open the Eggnog then! As part of our Christmas 2012 collection we decided to create some special and unusual eggnog miniatures - a wonderful Eggnog Latte with a mince pie and 4 Eggnog & Cranberry Cake Slices (which have already found a new home!)! If they were the real thing it'd definitely be time to sit by the fireside and have a warming snack!

We've also added this Luxury Layered Coffee with it's glass cup and saucer (not to mention chocolate ganache topped sponge cake and hazelnut/chocolate chip cookie!) to our Etsy store recently, making every attempt to ensure Winter is going to be as cosy and tasty as possible in the miniature world!!
