Miniature Wartime Sweets In DHMS Magazine!

Summer 2014 may be almost upon us but travel backwards to discover what sweet treat was hidden inside school air raid shelters as Sadie's project series reaches World War II in the July issue of Dolls House & Miniature Scene magazine.

 

Below, the sweets feature with something that's not miniature but something that was part of everyone's War - a genuine Wartime Identity Card which belonged to Sadie's uncle and is now never far away since it came into her care some twenty years ago.

Easter Simnel Cake!

For us, the smell of a traditional simnel cake is synonymous with Easter! There are very few things more delicious than golden fruit cake and marzipan together in one tempting slice of cake! Eaten going all the way back to medieval times, simnel cake is timeless and has an enduring appeal whether eaten for a love of marzipan or as a part of your own Easter traditions (or both!!). With this in mind, Easter 2014 couldn't go by without a simnel cake in our online store this Good Friday!
