Spring Dining!

A week today until the official start of Spring! A time when we start thinking about lighter dishes and al fresco dining once more as the comfort foods of Winter give way to delights such as this miniature

 Fresh Fruit Mille Feuille Cake!

Layered with light puff pastry and sandwiched together with whipped double cream and mixed fresh fruit, the cake is surrounded by a crunchy assortment of chopped and toasted nuts before being topped with icing sugar and a hint of the delicious fruit inside! Can't you just imagine sitting outside on a lovely, warm Spring night with a glass of something cold and a fork ready to dig in to a slice of this?!!

Meringue Frosted Vanilla Cake!

The wonderful citrus colors of the orange and lemon atop this Meringue Frosted Vanilla Cake, a new addition to our website store, are a reminder that we're only two weeks (yes, just two weeks away!!) from the start of Spring and indeed for some Daylight Saving Time begins in just a couple of days! Here in Scotland we have to wait until Easter Sunday but still the nights are getting lighter and lighter all the time and the early evening sunlight provides many tempting settings for photographing miniatures!

St Patrick's Day Miniatures!

The grass is turning green once more so that can only mean one thing.....it's almost Spring and it's almost St Patrick's Day, that day of all things Irish green!! These gorgeous St Patrick's Day Iced Cookies and unusual and scumptuously tempting Shamrock Bread With Antipasto were two of the first additions to the online store on our new website! The Irish Coffee has already found a new home and we hope these photographs of our St Patrick's Day Collection inspires all the fun of the coming Springtime as much as they have for us!

Sat here watching the dawn break over the Isle of Skye it isn't just the start of a new day but also a new era for Homewardflight with the launch of our brand new website. It's something we've been working towards for a while now so to finally be here opening the door is very exciting!
